Call Letter for Reunion

The second meeting of the Executive Committee and the fourth in the Silver Jubilee series was held at Farmstead, Coimbatore on 6th October, 2002. There were about 32 participants and as expected it generated a lot of enthusiasm and a spirit of camarederie.
 
The details of the discussions are given below :

 

MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 6TH OCT 2002 AT FARMSTEAD, COIMBATORE  

The meeting was chaired by Mr Ramaraj. The following points were discussed and decided: 

  1. The minutes of the last meeting (on 01.09.02 at Chennai) of the executive committee was read and approved.
  2. Budget for the Reunion meet was discussed in detail. It has been agreed that the overall budget will be Rs 6.30 lakhs, including the corpus of Rs 1 Lakh meant for future welfare activities.
  3. Besides the sponsors who had already come forward in the last meeting on 1st Sept, 2002 at Chennai, ten others offered to contribute as follows:
    • Mr M.S.Chandrasekar                        -            Rs 25,000
    • Mr N.Nithyanandam                        -            Rs 10,000
    • Mr K.Satyanarayana Rao                        -            Rs 10,000
    • Mr M.Janakiraman                        -            Rs   5,000
    • Mr D.Jayaprakash                                    -            Rs   5,000
    • Mr S.Kannaiyan                                    -            Rs   5,000
    • Mr Ravindranathan                        -            Rs   5,000
    • Mr N.Sampath Kumar                        -            Rs   5,000
    • Mr N.Sundaram                                    -            Rs   5,000
    • Mr C.Kathiresan                                    -            Rs   4,000

Already Mr R.Selvaraju has contributed Rs 5,000.

The gathering thanked all the above batchmates for their gesture.

The following batchmates have also come forward to contribute, but will inform the extent of contribution later;

All the batchmates who have come forward, were requested to contribute before 31st October, 2002. 

  1. All batchmates were requested to put in their best efforts to identify further sponsors to bridge the gap between the anticipated revenue and expenditure.
  2. The revenue generation potential of the souvenir was discussed and it was agreed that each and every batch mate has to collect at least 3 ads and ensure a revenue of Rs 2500 (three ads put together). The souvenir committee has been requested to ensure that at least Rs 1 Lakh is retained after meeting the souvenir expenditure. 
  3. To ensure the successful conduct of the Reunion meet, it was decided to allocate specific responsibilities to a few batchmates. The following persons have come forward: 

·        Mr Jayaprakash        -                  Transport & Hotel Room Allocation

·        Mr Gopalakrishnan            -            Reception at College

·        Mr Nithyanandam            -            Programme

·        M/s Chandrasekar &

 Raveendran       -       Catering

·        Mr Sampathkumar            -            Souvenir

They have been requested to work out each and every detail and the resources required for approval of the organizing committee. 

  1. Mr Udayakumar reported that already 27 batchmates have remitted the subscription of Rs 3000/-. Since the call letter for the Reunion was delayed a little, it has been decided to extend the date for subscription payment to 31st October, 2002. 
  2. Mr Udayakumar, Mr J.Krishnamoorthy and Mr R.Suresh will follow-up and hasten the collection of subscription from the remaining batchmates.

There were quite a few members who were participating in the Reunion meetings for the first time. After the business session when several decisions were made, it was the usual gala time ! Kudos to the Coimbatore chapter who played host !!
